K-9 Protection Programs

The specifics of this program will be discussed with the owner only after the dog has passed the Obedience 2 program and has been qualified as having the proper genetics and drive for personal protection work. This is not a police dog course or attack dog course.

Protection 1
After completing Obedience 2 and being approved for protection work, the dog will learn and excercise suspicion building, confidence building and working in drive. Learning and building proper bite will also be taught. This program is ideal for a person or family who wants their dog to alert to strangers and be willing to bite in defense.

Protection 2
This program includes all the aspects of Protection 1, but builds on the dogs various drives. Training the "out" will be stressed and training scenarios will vary for proofing the dog. This program is much more broad than Protection 1 and its purpose is to build a confident dog that will protect in any situation, at home or away. The progress of the dog will depend greatly on it's genetics, nerves, drive and obedience foundation.
